Dance With Parkinson’s Classes
Dance with Parkinson’s is a Movement Meets class designed for people with Parkinson’s Disease. Classes keep individuals moving in a fun, welcoming, and safe environment. Urbanity’s instructors will guide students through exercises designed to enhance and maintain mobility, flexibility, balance, posture, coordination, and strength, and all exercises are easily modifiable for various levels of mobility. In this social, creative outlet, participants can discover or rediscover the joy of movement.
Dance with Parkinson’s is free and open to all levels. All are welcome and no previous dance experience is required. Participants may start taking class at any time of the year.
Instructors are safety certified and have trained with David Leventhal of Mark Morris Dance Group, who codified the original Dance for PD curriculum in collaboration with Brooklyn Parkinson's Group. Caregivers and loved ones are welcome, but not required, to join.

Health and Safety Protocols
The space currently has a maximum capacity of 12 people. We do not anticipate reaching this threshold, but if we get close, we will have a sign-up sheet.
If you are not feeling well, have come into contact the last two weeks with anyone diagnosed or suspected of having COVID-19, please do not come into the studio. We would love to have you attend the virtual option, though!
Chairs, floor, and touched surfaces will be sanitized before class by studio administrators.
These guidelines will continue to be updated based on public health recommendations.
“It feels great to be able to move. It makes my body feel loose. It feels wonderful to open your body and it’s fun!”
